As is traditional, here’s a montage of my 2020. From Mexico, Yellowknife, to the wilds, and releasing a new Emaneska book, despite the craziness of 2020, it somehow ended up productive and informative. This really isn’t supposed to be boastful, but looking purely on the good side of what was a strange, difficult, and frankly […]

I was recently interviewed on Bookworm Blues, and I was foolish enough to claim my Gollum impression is the best you’ll hear. Of course, such madness was challenged. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
I’ve thrown together a timelapse of the whole map-making process. It’s a handy little thing Procreate does, and means you can see how many times I tried to draw a river… Also… The Forever King launches TWO WEEKS TODAY! readerlinks.com/l/1420249
I’m back with another Fantasy Author Lounge interview, and this month I’ve had the honour of being joined by none other than Christian / Miles Cameron! Author of over 40 books, from fantasy to sci-fi, he’s also a badass swordsman, reenactor, and a fountain of good humour.

Who’s in the Fantasy Author Lounge this month? It’s Rob J. Hayes! Aka The Hat, and fellow indie author of over a dozen fantasy books. Watch this latest Lounge interview to find out more about Rob and his books as we put the world to rights.

It’s been a damn exciting start to the year for me, what with Grim Solace out and The Written becoming an Amazon bestseller. It’s been hella busy, too, organising the rapid release of Chasing Graves and kicking off the new Emaneska Series, and they haven’t left me with a lot of time to keep you readers up to date. So, as it’s high time I did, I thought I would head down to frigid Victoria Harbour, brave the crowds of geese, and put together a new BenCast for you all about what madness I’ve got
It’s been just under a week since Chasing Graves has launched, and what an overwhelming week it’s been! I thought I’d put together a BenCast all about my plans for a rapid release of Chasing Graves. In case you missed the news on Twitter and Facebook, I’ll be releasing the whole trilogy between December and March 2019. That means less waiting, more fantasy. It’s something I’ve never attempted before, but am having fun with the challenge of doing three launches back to back. Find out more about the when and the why in the vlog!In the meantime, the launch of Book One – Chasing Graves – is only a
In this latest BenCast, I go through my 1-star reviews. Yep. You read that right. I go toe to toe with the lowest of the low ratings. From my debut The Written to the newest book The Heart of Stone, here’s why people don’t like my stories or my writing. You can’t win them all I think it’s always useful to look at both good and bad reviews. Sometimes they’re constructive and useful, so never wise to dismiss just out of hand. I found it quite entertaining to dig these up and look through. If you
